Save Gmail attachments in Dropbox
Plan a selected Gmail attachment transfer to Dropbox with provenance, retry checks and documented API steps.
Content updated:
Does this route fit?
This plan connects Gmail search, attachment download and Dropbox upload for selected attachments. A shared filename is not enough to establish that two attachments are identical.
Untested: no complete practical workflow established.
4/4 steps backed by API documentation.
Required apps
Setup and a small test
Select one test message with a known attachment and a dedicated Dropbox folder. Inspect the message before downloading.
Keep the message ID, attachment ID and destination path together. Decode the Gmail data field as described in the documented transfer step.
Read back the uploaded file and compare its content. Repeat the same request and check for an unwanted second file.

Tests and limitations
The recorded API operations document the transfer route. They do not establish invoice recognition, malicious attachment detection or a complete practical Gmail-to-Dropbox run.

Alternatives
For occasional files, download and upload the attachment manually. A separate guide covers Google Drive.
