Name neighbours
Which identifiers stand confusingly close to another one
How it works
Drop in an identifier. This page measures which other entries match it in name or come close to it - each kind of closeness in its own section, so that sameness does not read as similarity or the other way round.
What is measured is similarity of names and nothing else. Nothing follows from it about the entries: not that they belong together, not that one imitates the other, and not that anything is wrong with either. Two names can resemble each other because they name the same thing.
Nothing dropped in yet. Below are the two sections that can be counted across the whole set of entries.
The three sections that measure distance run each identifier against all 41,867 published entries. They therefore appear only once an identifier has been dropped in above - measured, one such query costs 1.4 milliseconds, a pass over all pairs 2.8 seconds.
Same display name across the namespace boundary, whole set of entries
628 groups, 1,379 entries in all.
Showing the 25 largest of 628 groups.
Same local name across the namespace boundary, whole set of entries
2,068 groups, 6,700 entries in all.
Showing the 25 largest of 2,068 groups.
Version of the neighbourhood rules: 1. Minimum length of the local name for the similarity comparison: 6 characters. The comparison ignores case, runs against the 41,867 published entries and applies the same publication limit as the list.
Distance is computed only between identifiers that carry no account name – on both sides of the comparison.
